FAF: I did something!

Hey Fiber Arts Friday Fans!

Yippy Look I actually sat down and spun up a bobbin of alpaca goodness this week!  My only motivation was because it was half done, taking up a bobbin and I wanted to spin some LOVELY bats from my white alpacas that Seven Spirits Farm carded up for me.  I can’t wait to show you.

Speaking of spinning.  Here’s a photo from TheLCN from October that Clover Hill Farm recently sent me.

Look I’m Weaving!  Errrr… no I’m not.  Might explain the perplexed look on my face.

If the weather was as nice as it has been here in WNY I hope you’ve been able to get out and enjoy it!

Happy Spinning!

FAF: Time Flies

Hi Fiber Arts Friday Fans!

We lost an hour of sleep thanks to DST and boy do I feel it.  I’ve been dragging all week.  I even had to add new batteries in my headlamp because my morning chores are in the dark again. Blah.

Speaking of time have you guys seen this clock?!  I cannot figure out how to buy one but I SO want it!  It was made as an art project but I hope someone picks it up and commercializes it so fiber freaks like us can buy one!

As for what I’ve been up to.  I had my dye pot going last weekend and worked up these new colors for Lollypop Yarn.

So far the first $100 was raised from the sale of this yarn and was donated to Lollypop Farm last week.  Keep the sales coming, there’s plenty of yarn left and it goes to the local Humane Society to help care for the sheep that provided the wool!

FAF: Back to Crochet

Hi Fiber Arts Friday Fans,

Wow I’ve been MIA for a while now.  We’re down a man at work, new boss and crazy hours, another horse added to the herd and little hours to enjoy with fiber.

Here’s a project I started a few weeks ago but I’m trying to figure out Row 6.  The pattern isn’t making any sense to me yet.  I’m hoping for an “Ah ha” moment soon because I really like the look of this hat!

WIP: Lollypop Yarn Donation

I’m going to consider this a WIP post because there’s plenty of yarn to go and a lot more $ to raise for the Humane Society of Greater Rochester (aka Lollypop Farm).

Today I have just mailed in the first $100 donation realized from the sales of Lollypop Yarn!  There’s still plenty of yarn left to sell!  CLICK HERE to go to the Lollypop Yarn page or you can cheat by using the quick links below to customize your Lollypop Yarn

Dear Lindsay,

Thank you so much for your recent gift of 100.00. Your support makes a huge difference in the lives of homeless and abused animals here in our community. I am extremely grateful that you have taken a moment from your busy life to help us care for the pets in need of a second chance.

It’s true that even during this slower time for animal admissions, upwards of 20 pets a day may be surrendered to Lollypop Farm. Pets like Waffles, a dachshund who was brought to us underweight and with heartworm disease. Gifts from you and many others enable us to continue to provide the costly care and medication animals like Waffles need until they are adopted into loving families.

Thank you again for helping us to continue to provide shelter and veterinary care for animals who have been surrendered or neglected by their owners. We promise to use your contribution wisely and continue to provide the tender, loving care that is our trademark.

Sincerely,

Alice L. Calabrese, CAWA
President and CEO
