Local to the area and need a place to birth out your foal? Consider Dutch Hollow. We have a large 16×16 birthing stall complete with cameras for your to watch from the comfort of your home.
Owner is a Licensed Vet Tech with plenty of birthing experience. Mares should arrive no less than 2 weeks before due date. Price for board is dry mare care prior to delivery and wet mare care after delivery. This fee is for the birthing itself.
What this fee includes is access to cameras, call when mare is in labor, assist in labor if needed, coordinating with your vet should an issue arise or to schedule 24 hour vet check post birth. We will check placenta and save for vet to double check for any issues. Your foal will be dried off, bottle fed 4-6 oz of milked or frozen colostrum if needed. Navel will be dipped and checked that it’s dry. We will monitor your foal to make sure they stand and can nurse. Mare and foal can go back home as soon as they pass their 24hr vet check.
